Hi, my name is Liuzixuan (Peter) Lin (Chinese: 林刘子轩, Pronunciation: lin lieu tzi shuan). I'm a CS PhD student at the University of Chicago, and I'm working on the Zero-carbon Cloud project with Prof. Andrew A. Chien as advisor. I'm interested in Data Analytics and Systems.

I got my bachelor in Computer Science from Peking University in 2019, with a double major in Economics.

We are exploring the opportunity of exploiting a growing phenomenon called "stranded power" in power grids to meet the increasing power demands of data centers and reduce their carbon footprint.

Inferring Urban Regions’ Functions Based on Social Media Text Analysis
Peking Univeristy

We extracted information from microblogs (Sina Weibo) with location tags to infer the topics in a region (e.g., food, travel) with NLP methods (e.g. LSTM for sentiment classification). A case study of Beijing was conducted to verify the availability of our method.
